Second story balcony sealed up with a rubberized finish - Sherman, Texas

Case study: Wood balcony sealed up with liquid rubber

Problem: Customer wanted a seamless finish on his balcony

Solution: Applied a liquid rubber polyurethane coating

Preparation:
First the surface was sanded and vacuumed and all joints where filed with an elastomeric chalk.

Coating application:
A primer was applied to the surface and allowed to dry. The adjacent areas where taped off with plastic to protect from over spray and the rubber polyurethane coating was applied in multiple thin coats until a proper thickness had been achieved. The coating also has crushed rubber mixed in for a slip resistant finish.

Summary:
If you are looking for a durable, slip resistant finish that is easy to walk on with bare feet this is a great alternative.
